Why aerosol bottle?

Aluminum bottles are often considered more environmentally friendly and, in specific contexts, more advantageous than plastic bottles for several reasons:

Recyclability:

Aluminium is highly recyclable and can be recycled repeatedly without losing its quality. The recycling process for aluminium is generally more efficient than for many types of plastics. Additionally, recycling aluminium requires less energy compared to producing it from raw materials. EVY products are made in Sweden, and the bottle is made of recycled aluminium that can be reused when disposed of in metal-recycling receptacles, while the dispenser and lid are separated as a plastic waste product. Remember, aluminium can be recycled indefinitely, so please recycle your finished bottle correctly. Also, check the two main symbols on the back side of the bottle.

Reduced Environmental Impact:

The production of aluminium has a lower environmental impact compared to the production of certain plastics. Extracting and processing aluminium ore (bauxite) into aluminium metal requires energy, but technological advancements have made this process more efficient.

Lower Carbon Footprint:

The overall carbon footprint of aluminium production tends to be lower than that of certain plastics. This is particularly true if the aluminium is recycled, as recycling aluminium requires significantly less energy compared to refining bauxite.

Durability:

Aluminum is known for its durability and resistance to corrosion. Aluminium bottles are less likely to break or degrade over time compared to certain types of plastic bottles. This durability can contribute to a longer lifespan for the container.

Preservation of Contents:

Aluminium is an excellent barrier against light, oxygen, and other external factors that can affect the quality of the contents. This makes aluminium bottles suitable for products that may be sensitive to environmental conditions, such as beverages for cosmetic products. EVY expands when it comes into contact with the air, which produces a mousse that feels very economical. Aerosol packaging allows EVY products to be completely free of preservatives and alcohol. This prevents wastage and ensures you can use every last drop of the product. The propellant gas is eco-friendly and made from renewable raw materials. The propellant has been purified and is suitable for cosmetic products.

Non-Toxic:

Aluminium is considered safe for packaging food and beverages. It is a non-toxic material, and aluminium bottles do not contain harmful substances like certain plastics that may leach into the contents.

Lightweight:

Aluminum is a lightweight material, making aluminium bottles convenient for on-the-go use. The lightweight nature of aluminium contributes to fuel efficiency during transportation, reducing the environmental impact associated with the distribution of products.

Expiration date?

You never need to open an EVY bottle thanks to the aerosol container. The bottle only releases the required amount of product and maintains the same integrity as an airtight can. Since it never comes into contact with oxygen, it never goes wrong, which allows EVY to be completely free of preservatives and alcohol. This means you’ll be able to use up the entire product’s contents even if you bought it some time ago. The best-before date can be found on the product’s underside but mainly serves as a guideline since, in our experience, the product lasts much longer.

But what does it mean the symbol of an open jar of sunscreen ?

The number inside the jar reflects how long to continue using the product when someone opens it. For example, ‘12M’ means it should be used within 12 months of being opened. It’s crucial not to ignore the symbol as after the expiry date ends, the active ingredients in the product begin to decompose and can become ineffective at warding off UVA and UVB rays. This means you’re at risk for sunburn, premature ageing, skin damage, and skin cancer — all the issues that come along with too much sun exposure. The longer sunscreen sits around and the more you open it, shut it, and take it on all your adventures, the more chance it is for bacteria to grow. Bacteria isn’t good for anyone’s skin and can cause irritation or a breakout. But if you have sensitive skin, you must be extra careful with what you put on it. You’ll want to think twice before slathering on questionable sunscreen.

Love your skin.
